A beautiful cotton fabric printed using indian block print, it holds elegance in its botanical design in softs shades of blue. A repeating motif gives it an organic feel with subtle variations in tone and shape that celebrate its traditional artisan printing process.
Weighing only 80gsm, making it a soft breathable and oh-sew comfortable fabric in the summer heat. Perfect for dressmaking: delicate breezy blouses, skirts and tiered dresses, it has lots of potential.
I've personally made the Bubble Pants from Wardrobe by Me, and the comfort level is through the roof. Try and get them off of me, I dare you!
Being block printed fabric, subtle variations in the print celebrate the traditional methods of printing. You may see differences or "flaws" but these are just unique quirks to the artisan work behind every metre.
As always with naturally dyed fabrics, we recommend washing this fabric with a handful of salt on the first few washes to help fix the dyes and prevent them running. It is also best to keep your regular laundry separate for those first few, until you feel confident that the colours won't run. It's perfectly normal for the surface pigment to slowly fade over time with each wash, it's part of it's unique charm of being dyed naturally.
