Join the #StitchingAdventures2024 Challenge: Showcase Your Makes and Win Fabulous Prizes!
Hello, lovely sewists and creative souls! 🌱✨
I'm thrilled to share a fantastic opportunity that combines our love for sewing with a bit of friendly competition. Our dear friends @fabric.lady.steph and @in_a_haystack are hosting the fabulous #StitchingAdventures2024 challenge on Instagram, and it's the perfect chance to show off your beautiful creations while standing a chance to win some amazing prizes!
What's the Challenge About?
The challenge is all about celebrating the joy of making and the adventure it takes once those last stitches have been sewn in place.
To join in the fun, simply post a picture of yourself (or someone you've sewn for) wearing a handmade, upcycled, or repaired garment. Don't forget to include the hashtag #StitchingAdventures2024 and tag both @fabric.lady.steph and @in_a_haystack in your post.
But there's a twist! We want to hear about your adventures in day-to-day life while wearing your handmade creations. Are you sporting your latest me-made on holiday? Climbing a mountain? Simply walking the dog? Or maybe you’ve whipped up some accessories to keep that cake mix from splattering all over while you bake. Whatever your adventure, we’d love to hear about it!
Why Should You Join?
Apart from the pure fun of participating, this challenge is a brilliant way to connect with the wider sewing community, showcase your unique makes, and find inspiration from fellow sewists. And did I mention the prizes? 🎁 By entering, you'll be in with a chance to win some lovely goodies from various sponsors, including a gift card from yours truly, Sew Eco Fabrics!
My Stitching Adventures: Inspiration for Your Makes
To give you a bit of inspiration, I wanted to share some of my own stitching adventures. One of my recent favourites is my ‘Project Beach Dad’—a cosy, fun tropical tee I whipped up for a themed beach party at the Crafty Sewing Camp. It was such a joy to create something so fun, and it turned out to be one of my favourite wears to date! I made it with the Dahlia Viscose Fabric from Cousette in the Gilbert Shirt pattern from Helen's Closet.
[Photo below: A cheesy photo of Rosie dressed up as 'Beach dad' on a backdrop of a beach with a bucket of beers in the background. Zoomed image shows a closer image of the shirt and above is written 'Project Beach Dad!'
Another one of my cherished makes is the All Around Crews, which are my go-to for evening beach strolls. There's nothing like a handmade piece to add that extra bit of comfort and simple style to your everyday adventures. The All Around Crews from Matchy Matchy Sewing Club are super easy to make—I can whip one up from fabric to finish in just 45 minutes. A super fun project for the overlocker!
Ready to Join the Fun?
So, are you in? Head over to Instagram, post your fabulous make, and share your sewing journey with the world. Remember, the deadline is 14th September, so get stitching!
Happy Sewing!
