Pattern Features

The Dovestone Dress is a versatile summer maxi / knee length dress; it’s fitted across the bust and then flows loosely to the ground. The maxi dress has a central slit at the front to add a touch of drama and ease of movement, whilst the knee length dress is sewn to the hem. A long drawstring tie allows the dress to be styled in multiple ways; either tied at the back, or front waist for added silhouette definition.

What Fabrics to Use→

Light to medium weight woven fabrics with drape are recommended for this pattern. Consider using cotton lawn, viscose, rayon, Tencel, georgette, challis, or crepe de chine.

What's Inside this Sewing Pattern?→

The pack will contain three pdf files: → Pattern pieces on A0 sheets → for copy shop printing. → Pattern pieces on 7 x 10 inch tiles suitable for home printing on A4 or Letter sized paper. → Instruction booklet. The pattern piece sheets are layered to enable you to print only the size(s) you require (depending if you need to grade between multiple sizes). This feature has been designed for use with Adobe Reader, which you can download for free. The instruction booklet contains instructions on how to print the pattern at home. Alternatively you may wish to use an online / high street copy shop to print out the A0 sheets to save you time sticking them together.

Materials You'll Need For This Project→

→ Fabric (refer to fabric requirements chart below). → Matching thread. Note: This pattern requires a long drawstring for the ties. It is assumed that you will make your own drawstring using the pattern piece D provided. However, you may prefer to purchase a 15mm (5/8”) flat drawstring instead; refer to fabric requirements chart for length.
